Earned every day. Kept for good.

The Ado Rank.

An olympiad is one morning a year. The Ado Rank is earned every day, against students the same age, and kept. It never resets, and nothing bought can change it.

How to read it

Three facts. One line.

  • The title

Rookie to Legend, set by how well a student does across their best 3 subjects.

  • The place

“#96 of 1,204”: where they stand tonight among every ranked student in their age group.

  • The share

“Top 8%”: the same place as a percentage. It is the number to quote, because it means the same in a small age group and a large one.

How it’s earned

A little, every day.

  • 8 questions a day

A new daily opens every morning: 7 questions and a 60-second sprint, in maths, science, English, GK and reasoning, plus social studies, and current affairs from age 12.

  • A rating in every subject

Each answer moves that subject’s rating, by more or less depending on how hard the question was. As in chess, beating a strong opponent counts for more.

  • The best 3 count

The Ado Rank is built from a student’s best 3 subjects, so one weak subject never holds them back.

  • Placed after 3 dailies

After 3 dailies a student gets a title and a place in their age group. Places are worked out again every night.

Six titles

Rookie to Legend.

Every student starts as a Rookie. The titles above it are earned, and held only by keeping on playing well.

  1. RookieWhere every student starts, and the title until their level is clear.
  2. ChallengerPast the starting line, and improving in their best subjects.
  3. ContenderSteady and solid across their best three subjects.
  4. EliteStrong in their best subjects, day after day.
  5. PrimeNear the top of what the rank measures.
  6. LegendThe top title, for the highest level the rank measures.

The crown

Wear the crown.

Every Ado Rank is drawn as a crown: it belongs to the student, and it goes where they go. Once a year, on 31 March, the top 1% of each age group also earns the Ado Crown, a dated honour (“Ado Crown 2027”) that anyone they show it to can check. The first is on 31 March 2027.

Who earns the Ado Crown

  • The top 1% of ranked students in each age group, rounded up
  • Taken on 31 March, after that night’s ranking
  • Only students who played in the 28 days before
  • Only in an age group with at least 100 ranked students

Fair by design

Same age. Same questions.

  • Only against the same age

Ranks are kept inside one age group: Sprout (6–8), Spark (9–11), Surge (12–14), Apex (15–17). Students aged 18–22 have their own, and never share a board with anyone under 18.

  • One rank on every syllabus

Ranked questions are ones every syllabus covers, so students on CBSE, ICSE and state syllabuses compare fairly. Practice follows each student’s own class.

  • Never bought

The contests that set a rank are free for everyone, and nothing bought ever changes a rank.

  • Never reset

A rank isn’t wiped each season. A student who stops for a while leaves the boards after 28 days and comes back when they play again.

  • One rulebook

The maths behind every rating is versioned. If the rules change, the version changes with them, so a past rank is never quietly rewritten.

Questions

Asked often.

Is the Ado Rank an olympiad?

No. An olympiad is one exam on one day. The Ado Rank is a standing built from many days, against students the same age. Many students do both, and the olympiad guides on this site explain each exam.

Does it ever reset?

No. Ratings carry on for good. A student who stops playing leaves the boards after 28 days and returns when they play again. When a student moves up an age group on their birthday, their ratings come with them.

Who can have one?

Students aged 6–17, on an account a parent sets up, and students aged 18–22 on their own account. Each is ranked only within their own age group.

Is it free?

Yes. Everything that sets a rank is free. An optional membership adds more practice and insights, and never changes a rank.

Is a child’s rank public?

A rank card shows a made-up handle and, if the family chooses, a first name. Never an age, a school, where they live or a photo. Search engines are asked not to list children’s profiles.

Can it go on a college application?

It can be listed like any other achievement, with its date and a way to check it. The Ado Crown, a dated yearly honour, is the line most students will list.
